Decided to try Peet's Coffee store on Detroit Ave. this morning around 11 or so. They just opened up a couple of days ago and I wanted to give them a try. Well--first thing I noticed walking in was it looked sterile. No charm to the place at all. All the seating from the old Caribou was gone. Now just uncomfortable chairs and tables scattered around. Brightly lit and totally no ambiance at all. Anyways..I ordered a Pumpkin Latte. Mmm..kinda pricey --but what the heck! They served it in a nice sized white generic mug. Ok--hmm--the cup wasn't even warm..the latte was cold to say the least. Ok--yuck..I'll drink it anyways. Turned on my Ipad for some Wi-fi..quick connection..ok--sipped my Pumpkin latte which had NO pumpkin taste at all..way too much nutmeg--tasted hmm--gotta say..pretty sub-par..NO comparison to Starbucks. Stayed about a half an hour at most--the seating and ambiance of the place is awful--they obviously want some quick table turnover. Plus it was empty on the second day they opened up. Will I go back--def not.
