| - I've been hearing about Bootlegger's from various sources for years, but had not been compelled to visit until this holiday season. A bunch of friends were meeting for Karaoke on a Sunday night. I was late, and on my way in I was greeted by a group of several people that I hadn't seen in a while. Who knew Bootlegger's could be so popular?
The bar was split into two: the main area, with a traditional bar, TVs and drink specials, and the karaoke area which was sequestered away in another room. The room could probably easily fit 50 people, which makes it bigger than some karaoke places I know anyways. The lady running the karaoke was super friendly and really into it, and some staff came into sing songs. They seemed like they were having a good time. The same could not be said for our server, who seemed pretty stressed out. She kept forgetting drink orders.
The stories I have heard about Bootlegger's is that it can get pretty crazy, but on this Sunday at least things were pretty relaxed. It could have been a sports bar anywhere. The location is decently far from transit, which is a little annoying if you don't want to drive or cab it, and it is deep in the North East.
