I was a sprinter back in the day. I recently decided I'd try endurance running. Training and prep for these 2 types of running are totally different and I have zero experience in endurance running...the most I've done is a 7k and Badass Dash. My running shoes back then would last a long time since they're not meant for mileage - they were very light and had thinner soles.
I knew I had to talk to somebody with the knowledge and experience with endurance running - I'm inquisitive and dubious of things. So, I came here after work. I changed into my gym clothes but to my dismay, I forgot to pack my gym shoes! I went wearing sandals anyway. The guy that was working here was very helpful and he wasn't pushy at all. In fact, I think I was pushing him to take my money!
I told him what shoes I have for running and he said I already have the right shoes. But I didn't want to leave the store empty-handed. So, I told him I want red shoes. He had me try on a pair of red Saucony shoes and off to testing on the treadmill I went. I told him about my dreadful experience on the treadmill that happened a decade ago - I basically flew off the treadmill at the gym! The test was quick - I'm a neutral runner.
I grabbed my endurance running starter kit: nuun, hydration belt, microfiber socks, and my new pair of running shoes. If I would have stayed in the store longer, I would've ended up getting a GPS watch too. But I'm happy with my experience and my purchase.
