| - With the chocolate festival that went on a few days ago, a few stores had some promotions going on. Patisserie La Cigogne had a buy 1 get 1 free croissant/dessert/danish going on, so I decided to pop by.
My Orders:
PRINCE NOIR - (Crispy praline crust, roasted hazelnut coffee butter
cream and chocolate mousse. Finish with dark glaze) Honestly, the description tastes as good as it sounds. I loved everything about this. It'd be amazing with a cup of coffee or something, but a star on its' own.
EXOTIC FLOWER - (White chocolate mousse exotic fruit cream filling (mango, passion fruit & banana) w/ dark chocolate brownie) I never order white chocolate much, so this was something new and I liked it! It wasn't too sweet and the presentation would have pleased the eyes of an angel! Inside had a piece of pineapple which didn't click well, but the mousse was delicious.
DREAM OF CHINA - (Strawberry mousse and passion fruit coulis encased with a fancy biscuit.) It was smooth, but also it was a bit sour on the inside, overall nothing really special though.
ST.EVE - (Crusty almond sponge, roasted hazelnut butter cream with layer of dark chocolate inside) Honestly, this had a gooey and chewy texture to it... i didn't like it and it tasted like it was there for awhile.
INTENSE - (Dark chocolate mousse filled with mixed berry coulis, finished with a dark chocolate glaze) I'm a big fan of dark chocolate, but this was too rich for me! and the berry coulis was alright with the dark chocolate, but nothing new again. I think a glass of milk would go great though or a latte.. otherwise it was too intense.
SENSATION - (Sweet crust filled with almond cream and crunchy
hazelnut, finished with pistachio mousse) The name is so deceiving 'cause there was nothing sensational about this... and it did not even taste like green tea at all! which is what the description card said but it was pistachio..however my mom liked it..
Overall, the desserts were nice, but it's pricey so I don't think I'd come back here.. there are other bakeries that are waiting for me! Although I really did love the Prince Noir!
