Would be 5 stars but....
We had a 9pm reservation on New Years Eve but due to the craziness on the strip we called CUT around 8:45 while en route to inform the host we would be a bit late. We got to the restaurant at 9:20 after a CRAZY walk down the strip past some sort of motorcycle mayhem and rowdy New Years Eve crowds and all I wanted was to sit down and sip a cocktail. The host told us that because we were late we would have to wait an additional 20 minutes to be seated which I found interesting because once we did sit down, there were plenty of vacant tables around us. Ooh well...
The rundown: Started with a delicious glass of house red wine while drooling over the menu. To drink, we went with a bottle of champagne to enjoy throughout the evening (sadly I forget the name but it was wonderful!). We started with the tuna tar tar and each had a steak selected by my boyfriend with the servers recommendation. For our sides we went with the creamed spinach and macaroni and cheese. The creamed spinach was not my favorite. I felt like serving it with a soft egg was a little over the top and did nothing for the flavor. The macaroni was not something we would typically indulge in (especially after champagne, tuna, etc...) but came so highly recommended by the server that we couldn't pass it up. In a word-AMAZING! We were both way too full for dessert but managed to finish our champagne after the stroke of midnight.
Final thought:
I atually had higher expectations...
Great service, delicious bread selection, pricy, better steaks at Maestros
Thank you for a great night CUT
Happy New Year
