| - I've lived in Vegas 10 years and have been to almost all of the Korean restaurants in Vegas, and for my taste, I prefer DJK the most. When I come with my family, we'll grill one of the combos - usually Jack and ask to substitute the pork belly with more brisket. It's a good portion and comparatively the same as the others in town except there are more side dishes. Hobak is good but it doesn't have all the sides we like and at DJK it comes with the bean paste stew and coddled steamed eggs. We also don't drink so we get sofa versus the soju.
I'm Korean and grew up in Los Angeles so I'm looking for authentic Korean taste and DJK hits the spot. I'm here for lunch or dinner several times a month.
Overall, they do well. It's easy. Also, it's one of the few places in Vegas where they make naengmyun from scratch. If you like the bibim naengmyun spicy, they do a great version, although I'm not a fan of the meat pieces in naengmyun.
Their kimchi is always ripe and starting Nov, they introduced new kimchi stew that's really good. I ask them to add rice cakes (dduk) to it. It's really tasty.
Over the years, I think they've gotten enough non-Korean speakers so their service has improved. Recently I noticed one of their serving staff doesn't speak Korean, so that was new.
Their main problem is that the facility has been around for 20 years or so, it's not shiny. But in terms of food, it's pretty good. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
