My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday last week and I enjoyed our visit. This is a large place with lots of food options and a beautiful aquarium full of diverse sea life.
I LOVED the adorable sea otters. I kinda wanted to smuggle one out and keep it in my bath tub. So cute!
Also amazing- the penguins! They were totes adorbs. While we were there they were all gathered around one of the workers inside their tank patiently waiting in a little group to be fed their little snacks. They sat in front of her with no commotion or anything. Aww, so well-behaved!!
The sea lions were abundant and there are plenty of sharks and other miscellaneous fish and sea critters here. I definitely saw some fish I'd never encountered before.
There were also a few birds and lizards on site, which was cool.
Luckily we ate before we came because the food prices were absurd. We did get a tad thirsty and for $7 had two small soft drinks (ice tea), which was really good but again, pricey!
We browsed through some of the shops but again, exorbitant pricing for what you get. We refrained from purchasing anything.
The biggest let down? NO DOLPHINS at OdySea! In the interest of maximum price gouging, they have the dolphins housed separately at a different facility next door just for the purposes of charging customers more money. That exhibit is over $50 just to see the dolphins and over $100 to interact with them. Ugh. I really have no respect for a business that tries to pull one over on people like this. They definitely deserve to lose a star for this move. There is no logical reason to charge a separate admission fee to see the dolphins other than greed.
