  • Booked a same day appt for myself and hubby on a Saturday evening for a one hour couples massage based on great yelp reviews. I used to frequently get massages at my regular clinic but am honestly quite skeptical about whether they are RMTs providing services, most of the time they don't speak English or give you a one size fits all massage which was fine before until I became pregnant. I was much pickier about who would be massaging me as I know moms to be have to avoid certain pressure points that can cause contractions, have to be side lying to avoid compression of blood vessels etc. Going on yelp to search prenatal massage proved fruitless, few Locations offer it downtown which is inconvenient for me. Thank goodness I found Duotherapy! This is a home based clinic run by a young professional RMT couple. Patricia, who did my prenatal massage was very knowledgeable about prenatal massage, she had actually completed a 6 month (I believe) rotation with pregnant women when she did her training. the booking was done online and extremely user friendly, I recieved email and text confirmation shortly after booking. Upon arrival, we both filled out a questionnaire and consent before starting and they asked us where our problem spots were. The clinic is located in the basement of their clinic, is very clean and the atmosphere is calming. Love the decor! Patricia made sure I was well draped at all times, made sure the pressure was comfortable for me and had me propped up on pillows and a wedge to complete the massage! Bonus, she let me Pick an essential oil and mentioned she removed all the oils that are contraindicated in pregnancy. I enjoyed my massage, seeing that I haven't had a massage in 6 months since I found out I was pregnant, this was a real treat. It was not the painful, deep tissue massage that I am used to with my regular clinic, just relaxing from head to toe. After treatment, she gave me tips on alleviating low back pain and offered to send me some infant massage information via email for future use:) My husband recieved a massage from Matthew who was equally knowledgeable and professional, for once he didn't complain the therapist caused him more pain than when he arrived! I highly recommend Duotherapy if you would like an amazing and professional massage experience. Don't waste your money on those asian places, this is the real deal.
