  • This was my first time staying at South Point. My wife and I shacked up there from March 23rd to the 26th for bowling. Usually, we stay with family when we are in Vegas, but in this case we opted for a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality and bang for your buck you get with South Point. I have visited just to dine at a few of it's restaurants, so it was nice to get a different perspective. We arrived about 12:30, and our room was ready. The front desk staff was very friendly, so no issues there. When we arrived at our room, I was shocked at how big it was. I understand every room is 500 square feet, but this was almost a mini-suite in my book. The room was very clean and we had an unobstructed view of The Strip. Our room number was 2177 in case you wanted to know. The hotel offers a lot of amenities that if you were going to Vegas for a short weekend, makes South Point a great deal. There is a movie theater, bowling alley, and several bars and restaurants. You pretty much don't have to leave if you don't want to. Although, the slot machines will take your money. lol Room rates are pretty reasonable as well. Anywhere from $59 to $79 during the week and $129 to $159 on weekends. The only bad thing I could say is that the cigarette smoke is bad, so expect to walk out smelling like and ash tray. Valet parking is free, which is a good things since it is no longer that way on The Strip. Also, drinks are still free if you gamble. Unlike, the rest of Vegas. The crowd is a little different then what you get from the rest of Vegas. You won't find your leggy, club dressed ladies here. You will find a lot of cowboys and cowgirls. lol Not to mention the senior citizens. lol Uber and Lyft are very easy to access from the valet parking area. I would recommend South Point as an alternative to the bigger hotels. You don't get the glitz and glamour that you would normally get from Vegas, but you can save a lot of money to go elsewhere and experience it. lol
