I happened to be in the area and stopped into Big's (I do not live anywhere near by). I put a down payment on a couch. As it is far for me, I figured i would call in the following week with my cc number and pay the balance in full. So less than a week later, I called and was told that no, I could not pay over the phone, and had to come into the store personally...
Why? This makes no sense to me whatsoever.
So because of my work schedule, it took me another 3 weeks before I could make it over there to pay up (despite the fact I could have paid in full 3 days after I put the deposit on the item!). Huge inconvenience as I had been told by the salesperson that it takes 2 weeks to get the couch from the time you pay in full - so I should have already had my couch by this point.
So I go in, pay, and am told that the order would be placed immediately - and that I could expect my new couch in 2-3 weeks at the latest. OK. Sounds good. That was 6 weeks ago - and I have been told, yet again, that it will be yet another week...
So with the last 6 weeks since I paid in full - plus the 3weeks that I could not get my money to them because they won't take phone payments....this totals over 2 months of waiting....
The laughable thing is that I was told it was taking so long because the couch was "being shipped from the Mid-west"....we live in NEVADA....LOL
