My experience began with the guy on the phone not knowing how to give me directions to the place. He didn't know left or right or north, south, east west. All he could tell me is it's across the street from the 7-11. *sigh. I requested a low-mileage, non-smoking 17' van with a car tow for my RAV4 to make my 2000+ mile trek across the country to Maryland driving alone.
When I arrived we had to walk the parking lot twice in the hot sun to find my U-haul and discovered it was parked all the way in the back behind the other U-hauls. I climbed over several car trailers to get to the U-haul to check it out. It REEKED like smoke, would NOT start and had over 100,000 miles in it. I DON'T THINK SO!! "Oh, no problem. I'll put a new battery in it tonight before I leave...and 100,000 miles IS low mileage for U-hauls."
I called manager Terry at the 39th street and McDowell location and he fixed it all up for me. I was given a 20' U-haul with less than 11,000 miles on it...but that's a whole other review (a much more positive experience).
