This past Sunday I decided to try a new salon, Lunchbox Wax, it's closer to my house and the reviews I found on Facebook were so positive. I was getting a service done that is sensitive in nature...I'll just leave it as that. I have been in miserable pain, uncomfortable and itchy. After calling the salon to talk with a manager the first girl was a bit giggly as I explained the situation and told me I needed to come down so they could take a look. I didn't feel comfortable with that as if anyone would look it would be a dr. She told me that the owner would call me back, this was at 9:30 in the morning, after not hearing from anyone and it was 3 in the afternoon I decided to call again. The next girl I spoke with was actually apologetic and sincere. She was unaware of the situation and called the owner Rosie. Over an hour later I finally got a call and explained the situation, that it was 2 full days later and I felt miserable and the intense itching sensation was awful. She told me that I needed to come down there so they could "just take a peek and that they are trained to identify skin problems." I wasn't comfortable with that and told her if anyone would be doing that it would be a doctor. I asked for a refund on my services and she refused saying she needed to see it. Apparently she assumed that I was lying about something so sensitive in nature. She also compared me coming down there so they could "take a peek"like returning a shirt to Nordstrom's. After getting no where on the phone with her I noticed my legs beginning to itch, I went to take a look and both of my thighs were covered in hives. I went right to the urgent care and the doctor let me know I was having a severe allergic reaction to the service I received. I got 2 shots while I was there and prescribed 3 medications. I called the corporate office and left an email and have yet to hear from them. When I spoke to the owner she acknowledged that she lost a customer and she was sorry for that. But to be honest I don't even need the money but it's the principle of the matter. Sorry if this is long winded and I know it won't happen to everyone, but this salon is more interested in their money than a customer having a severe allergic reaction, something that has never happened at any of the other salons I've gone to. I would never treat a customer let alone another human being this way. If you want to feel humiliated and embarrassed then go check out Lunchbox wax, because all they care about it is their money and not about their customers.
