| - Halloween night dinner!
I wanted to pick a fun place for dinner that would have a festive theme - but I wanted something different. Baku was it. They had a DJ set up that gave the upstairs area a fun vibe, and there were a handful of people dressed up.
I made reservations and my party was seated at a comfortable table behind the bar. We noted the cool decor along with a few funky Halloween items.
The wine list is neat: they have a few unusual items. I tried the Bollini Pinot Grigio, and my friends took part in the specials. The prices were fair on drinks - this is a nice place in a great location so don't expect dive-bar prices.
The food comes in a tapas/sharing style. I split the Robata skewer of tofu, and the Tempura Rock Shrimp. My other friends had the salmon, dumplings, sushi, and it all looked really good! On the next trip, I plan to try some of the substantial dinner plates. With the way they made the tofu taste awesome, I'm excited to see what else they have to offer.
The waitress was very attentive to our large, festive group, and kept checking on us between her other tables. Even though it was a busy night, the service was consistently good.
I'm planning on coming again.
