  • Here's my experience with One Guard. I've carried a policy for 2 years with no need for repairs. On May 29, our dishwasher stopped draining. I requested service online, which was pretty simple, and paid the service fee of $79. This is in addition to the monthly fee for the warranty I pay for this warranty of course. I scheduled a service call with the company contracted by OneGuard to provide service. The technician arrived 1 week after I submitted the request for service, as scheduled. They arrived, inspected the dishwasher and stated that I needed a new drain pump and the part was out of stock, so it would have to be ordered, which typically takes 3-5 days. Let me state that the Technician was great. Good communication, and answered all my questions. 2 WEEKS later I received a call to schedule the technician to return as the part has finally arrived. The appointment was scheduled for 1 week later, so now we're 4 WEEKS without a functional dishwasher. The technician arrived, installed the new drain pump, and the new drain pump burnt out upon installation. The technician found a piece of glass in the new pump, and identified that a broken glass was the culprit for the drain pump burning out. I asked what are the solutions, he said that the drain could be cleared of class and a new drain pump installed. The new drain pump would have to be approved by the warranty company, as this would be the 2nd part requested for the same job. Drain pump replacement is a standard repair covered by my policy, so he was not concerned that it wouldn't be covered, and said that he'd see me soon once the approval was authorized by OneGuard. Well, I just received a call that due to"broken glass being all throughout the dishwasher" that this repair was not covered by my policy and my only option is to replace the dishwasher. All the policy fees and service fees I've paid thus far are lost. This is in complete contradiction to what the technician told me on site, so needless to say I'm done with this warranty policy and company. Cancelling my policy today as its a total waste of money. They wasted 4 weeks of time and didn't solve anything. I'm better off paying to service when I need it out of pocket, as service will be timely and costs overall will be cheeper. OneGuard Home Warranty sure knows how to many a loyal customer feel worthless and not valued. Do not waste your time or money with this company.
