| - I LOVE this place! I eat here at least once every other week or so, since I work down the street. So I am not sure what Greg R is talking about, because none of the items in his "review" have been on the menu for nearly a year now! Maybe he was as slow writing it as he claims the service was.
The food is always on point and reasonably priced. I also like the fact that they change the menu seasonally (while keeping some standbys intact.)
The french onion soup is to die for. Rich beefy, oniony broth with a generous crouton and bubbly hot cheese - c'est magnifique!
Pomme frites, perfect. Nothing better than fresh, real potatoes. If there is one thing I can't stand, it is the standard frozen thing that passes for fries in most places these days. Paired with the tender, seared hanger steak and I am in lunch heaven.
I usually have lunch there, but I brought a friend there for dinner the other night. She absolutely raved about the striped bass. I had the Tagliatelle with rabbit sauce. I all but licked the plate clean. We followed with the sticky toffee pudding and practically fought each other for each bite. Next time we'll definitely order two!
I don't know why people tend to complain about the service. They knew me by name after my third visit. Besides, it is a French restaurant. If there is one thing the French don't do, it is rush through a meal. Good food, good wine, and good company should be savored!
