Description of experience:
Remove several common seborrheic keratoses growths on my face and scalp. Dr. Samlaska gave the areas a brief application of liquid nitrogen to freeze off the growths and asked me to return in a month. I returned in a month, and he again treated the areas with nitrogen.
Member Comments:
The doctor gave each area only a very superficial application, and after 2 visits, most of the original areas remained. The first time, he spent about 3 minutes with me, including visual examination and applying the nitrogen. The second visit was about 1 to 2 minutes maximum, and he went on to other patients. I wanted to ask him a question, but he was already out of the room. He scheduled me for a third visit after another 4 months.
I was shocked at his bill of $1205, for a total of less than 5 minutes of his time and called my insurance company to see if it could be investigated as billing fraud. The insurance company said it was legal, and did not pursue it further. Needless to say I cancelled my final visit.
