| - Checked out Great Buns based on the Yelp reviews and I came in with such high hopes, but was left unamused.
They had a ton of fresh bakery products, from bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, etc. The selection is abundant and is made in mass quantities. That's where I think I was let down. I got a cinnamon roll, cheese danish, almond croissant, and a muffin. I could already tell that the quality generic just by looking at it, but I wanted to actually taste it. Overall, the pastries were dry and practically tasteless. I was hoping the cinnamon roll would've had cream cheese frosting, but it was just straight up a sugar glaze. The cheese danish reminded me of when I was a kid and ate those Entenmann's danished wrapped in plastic. On the bright side, the muffin was good, and their sandwich rolls looked tempting.
Prices, yeah I can't fault them at all, it's CHEAP! I'd maybe come back here if I were given a task to buy 4 dozen pastries for a club, on the cheap.
I love my pastries, breads, croissants, donuts, cakes, etc. And I really had such high hopes for GBB. I'm not comparing it to Jean Philippe Patisserie, Bouchon, or even Paris Baguette but man, it's sad that I've had better tasting bakery products from Safeway.
