  • My wife and I decided to try Pappadaux since neither of us had ever eaten there before. What a great experience! Not knowing what to expect, I was extremely pleased with the restaurant. We arrived with no reservations and told it would be a 20-30 minute wait but we were shown to the bar area. As I am a fan of local microbrew beer, I ordered a Four Peaks Kiltlifter My wife had her usual cup of coffee. The bartenders were happy and funny and seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. The 20-30 minute wait only lasted about 10 minutes and we were shown to our table. The server was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in giving us a few suggestions to try. Even going to the point of letting us know what dishes she prefers in pairing with the appetizers. Since my allergy to mushrooms can cause issues, I asked if the meal can be made without them. Absolutely she replied. What happened next is what shocked us. The person running the kitchen came over to our table to make sure it is just an ingestion allergy and not a contact. She wanted to make sure that it was OK to cook in certain pots and pans. In my 48 years, no restaurant has ever asked me that. I felt taken care of from the beginning. The appetizers we had were fantastic. We enjoyed the crisp fried alligator and he crawfish and shrimp fondeaux. The fondeaux was the best creamy blend of cheese and seafood I've ever had. Definitely one appetizer you must try. Our main courses were equally as good. I had the Pasta Mardi Gras. Normally in restaurants when you order a main dish you can finish the entire thing. Pappadeaux loads up the plate with their food. I had lunch leftovers for two days. All in all the meal cost us about $100 with appetizers and drinks. Not a bad price for the experience we had. The atmosphere and employees were five star all the way. Leave room for their bread pudding for dessert. It's worth it.
