| - Awesome, yet crowded, and slightly overrated. I grew up in Pittsburgh and I could pretty much walk to their previous location (not too far down the street, on Forbes) and I oftentimes did, with my mom. Their strawberry hotcakes are more like crispy crepes with a slight dose of brown sugar, sour cream, and awesomely warm strawberry topping + whipped cream. Unffff. So good. Crispity yet soft. Salty, yet sweet. I am starting to drool just typing this. I want to go back, but alas, I am in St. Louis. Overrated because the place is always freaking packed so you expect a 5 star experience, when in reality, it's only a 4. (In my book at least.) The staff can be pushy sometimes. They were telling people to "go wait outside" in the freeze-ass cold. Yes, I get that they need room to move around, but it seems a little harsh to say that. Why not just turn on (MORE) heaters outside and/or enclose the area somehow? I dunno. Seemed a little cruel. Thankfully there's pretty rapid turnover and we only had to wait about 15 min for our party of 3. Ran into old friends there. Man, I miss home!!
