  • I am a gold member with Hertz and I have been loyal to this company when I travel for the last 14 years. 8/2/16 - Had to walk up to the counter because my contractor phone was not working. ( he was suppose to drive to the meeting) Was told they only had compact cars Was quoted 180.00 for 1 day rental, after taxes it totaled over $240.00 I used the car for 3 hours and tried to return it, and they wanted to charge me extra for early return. I didn't throw around my gold status, because anyone can be a gold member. I just asked for a reduced price for the car since I returned it and they could use it for other customers. No one was rude, but it was like I was wrong to want to return a car that i didn't need anymore after my meeting. Plus to charge me more?!? I was asked to call the local number provided by the Hertz Gold 800# Left 3 messages on Tuesday, it is now Friday and no one has returned any of my calls.
