I almost walked out, since when I went in neither of the hostesses in the front made any attempt to assist me (no greeting, nothing). After a few awkward moments though I did get a seat, and got an order in. The steak and eggs on the happy hour menu is quite a good deal, actually--I could have a meal out of two orders of that. I had two other things though--the bone marrow appetizer (enjoyable), and the grilled cheese (ok). I'd say the dishes were 4.5, 4, and 3.5. My initial server took my order and checked on me once, and then not again, another person (one of the workers from the bar) ended up being more attentive.
So, the lackluster service loses them a star. I think they were much more observant to people who looked ready to spend more money.
