A group of us came for a friend's birthday, who loves this place so I was excited to try it out. They were able to accommodate 19 people upstairs, but the service was slow and the food was just ok. I'm usually very skeptical when the menu has lots of variety from korean dishes to sushi to american. Also for a tapas place, it didn't really offer a lot of tapas. I probably should've stuck with the small eats and robatta on the menu.
I saw the sangria was a secret recipe, so I ordered that. It's nothing like sangria except the looks. The drink was BITTER then it was SOUR. I'm making a face as I'm writing this review remembering how it tasted.
We started with the kale and brussels, which was good. The brussels sprouts were tender and the kale chips really added a nice texture along with some truffle oil on the side. I had the korean friend chicken. It was upsetting as the korean sauce was just meh. The meat was also just ok, the white meat was dry and flavorless. They had something else on the plate that seemed like grits, but I wasn't sure and I don't remember what it said on the menu. It didn't pair well with the chicken. My husband got the crab cakes. It was also nothing special when I took a bite. Nothing that I could remember that made me want it again.
Our waiter wasn't very attentive even though we were his only table. I'm pretty disappointed. If it wasn't for the kale and brussels, I would've given it 2 stars.
