| - Came here to cool off on a hot day in Tempe, since it had great reviews and I've heard of Rita's from other locations before. This Rita's is very close to the ASU campus, so it's a great way for students to come and grab a quick treat. Rita's serves mainly italian ice, frozen custard, or a combination of the two (gelati). Staff was friendly and very attentive throughout the process, as I sampled away.
From the flavors that I sampled, I liked strawberry and tropical punch. I heard mango was really popular too, but unfortunately they sold out of that. I ended up getting that in a gelati, so I also had a chance to try the frozen custard portion. Definitely tasted like very solid/flavorful ice cream, but I would have to say not as good as other frozen yogurt/italian ice places that I have been too. It didn't leave me feeling "wow," but it definitely did the job in terms of a solid treat to beat the heat.
Overall, I think that this place is a solid place to go to and I wouldn't mind coming back, but I probably wouldn't actively crave it. Parking is decent since there tends to be a wide selection of street parking right next to it.
