I purchased a Groupon deal - $50 for two at the Tea Room and made a reservation for Twilight Tea.
Service: Felt Disciminated - 2 stars
Upon meeting the hostess, you need to present your printed Groupon, she then takes the ticket to your waiter. I believe this was the reason our service was so poor. We were put in the front tea room and it was not busy at all, maybe 3 or 4 tables were filled. Our waiter paid us barely any attention and attended to the tables next to us more (hence why I feel it was because I had a Groupon). While the table next to us came in after and ordered after, they received their tea and food 10 minutes before us. I also noticed the waiter spent more time explaining their teas to the other table, while with our table he just asked us what we wanted.
Food: Delicious Scones - 4 stars
The scones were absolutely delicious. Best scones I've ever had - buttery, lemony, perfectly sweetened and tasted amazing with the cream and jam. The sandwiches were sub-par. The desserts were decent. The sorbet at the end was pretty good.
While the food was decent, it was not worth the $25/person deal that I got - let alone $50. Really, why are people paying full price for bad service and sub-par food? While the Groupon deal gave me a chance to try this place (I would not have gone otherwise) I will not go again.
