Yelp cracks me up sometimes - I keep seeing this place pop up with the message "You've checked in here 9 times! What keeps you coming back?"
Work. That's it. Not fun. Never any fun for sure.
So when I come in/out of Canada, I generally want to move along as quickly as possible and I'd say both sides of the border do a good job at keeping it moving. When entering, I'm always rather surprised by the somewhat extensive questioning I get - it goes beyond why I'm coming and how long I'm staying. They want to know who I work for, what kind of meetings we're having and why can't we do them in the US? Ummm....I don't know, call my boss?
On the return side, Global Entry is the BEST. Skip the huge line, scan your fingerprints and breeze right through. At the second checkpoint, it goes TSA Precheck style (don't unpack liquids, keep shoes on, no scanner) except you have to unload your laptop. A huge time saver all around especially if you got caught in traffic and are pressed for time.
