I'm giving one star because Dr York is wonderful. His support staff, however, has little to be desired. There have been several incidents with the support staff that caused the loss of the other stars. The first incident occurred when my husband tried to pick up a prescription from the front desk. The staff repeatedly looked in the same spot over and over again. Each time not finding it but looking again and again. After several attempts they looked at my husband and shrugged. After some commotion another pediatrician said she thinks she knows what the script was for and that she would write a new one. My husband said he wasn't going to just give our son medication the pediatrician thinks Dr York wanted him to have! The second incident occurred when I brought my daughter for shots. They had no record of her appointment. It seems the scheduler forgot to hit enter after scheduling the appointment. They finally decided to squeeze her in. The third incident occurred after we were in the exam rooms. The nurse came in to do a brief history. The nurse was informed of my daughters latex allergy. Dr York examined my daughter and recommended other shots beside the required one. He left. After a long wait a woman came in to give the shots. She was wearing gloves and started giving my daughter her shots. I asked if her gloves were non latex. She said no. She continued with the injections as I reminded her of the latex allergy. She scowled at me and the said " oh she will be fine" and proceeded to finish while smacking the injection site with her latex gloved hand! I should have smacked her hand away from my daughters arm but hindsight is 20/20. I asked if she knew my daughters medical history and she said no. Well how does she know if her allergy was severe? What a blatant disregard for a child's well being. Luckily my daughter only had a mild reaction to her gloves (hives) but the "nurse"didn't know her history and was willing to risk my daughters well being so she wouldn't have to go and get non latex gloves. Tsk tsk ! No wonder Nevada has the lowest ratings when it comes to medical care!
