I heard about this in New Times Magazine when it opened and had been wanting to try it for some time now. I got the girls from work together and we met there to check it out. I found it easy as Im a Yelper and got some tips on the location (look for stairs on the Commonwealth side of Crust) but the other 2 girls were told by a hostess at Crust that The Ostrich was closed. No worries, we told them how to find us and they did. All good. There were 4 people in there and 2 bartenders who were neither friendly nor helpful ( I asked for help with the cocktail menu and was told..."yeah, there's lots to choose from, I know) I got the Martinez, which was a cross between a Martini and a Manhattan but with gin. It came in an old timey champagne glass and was 12 bucks. Ana got the jungle one and it was delicious. Also 12 bucks. The other 2 girls chose wine. We decided to sit at a booth and Carolanne was our server. She was absolutely lovely! Nice, refreshing personality and she helped us order some food as well. We got the bruscetta, which you choose 4 types for 10 bucks. Also, the artichoke and burrata was amazing. She got us a couple mini cannolis for our birthday girls and we really enjoyed them! Nice and creamy filling in a fresh, crispy cannoli. Atmosphere was dark and music wasnt too loud. Im glad I went but probably wont go back due to the pricing. I had 2 drinks and shared costs for food and still spent $50 for about an hour of being there.
