My 85 year old father recently moved into a home in Mesa that had the AC replaced two years ago and when they bought the home less than 6 months ago, the inspector gave the AC the all good except for a few duct leaks. The reason I'm writing this is because my Dad is not on Yelp and is not Internet aware as many seniors aren't.
My dad responded to this companies 35 tune up coupon and asked that a few duct leaks be sealed that were found in the home inspection while doing the tune up.
When the technician came out, he tried to up sale him a 500 a year maintenance plan along with a 1700 arrow seal kit. He then said two factory parts were blown and charged 250 for those and said he wrapped the leaks with duct tape instead as my dad had asked him to do in the first place.
After he left, the AC sounded like a thunderstorm was blowing in it and was not normal. It was not doing this prior to them working on it. The person who runs the VA home loan program who helped my dad get the house had one of their people come out and found that a pulley had come loose and fell into the system and could have caused major problems, none of the leaks in the duct had been taken care of and only one of the factory components had been replaced.
They repaired the system and gave him a written report of what they found. Now my dad is in the process of filing a BBB complaint along with a registrar of contractor's complaint.
