I've visited Rosie McCaffrey's twice. This last time for lunch. The place was rather empty during the lunch hour. I brought my kids for lunch with me since it was during their Spring Break and thought they would enjoy a little pub lunch. The restaurant is in a convenient location so I thought why not? I enjoy the decor of the restaurant although it is a bit dark. They just updated their new menu. Their old menu was still online. I noticed that they increased pricing and they also made their menu a bit more generic and less Irish-style cuisine. After placing our order, we proceeded to wait over 30 minutes which was unacceptable. The server was kind enough to change the TV programming for us but waiting over 30 minutes with kids doesn't work. My kids ordered the mac and cheese from the kids menu and the meal for $6 was not a good value. It tasted fine but my 11 year old son proceeded to polish it off in 2 minutes. And he's a small kid! I order the strawberry and spinach salad. This was pretty decent salad although for $11, it was a pretty small salad.
I liked the idea of having a pub lunch at an Irish restaurant but I'm afraid there are better choices that offer authentic and better food, a livelier setting, and more reasonable pricing. Kind of disappointing since it is a convenient location.
