  • Well, it says it's a 4 star hotel and that's pretty much what I experienced. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. . . .including folks I just ran into in the hallway or elevator; they all greeted me and asked me how I was doing. . . .Also used the spa, some eating places, the gym, and gift shop and everywhere people were genuinely nice in a down to earth / sincere way. . . . I was in town attending a conference at UNLV and I could walk to campus in 20 minutes so that was convenient. I Hotwired the hotel and sometimes when you Hotwire I feel the staff treats you like a 2nd class citizen, but I didn't experience that here at all. When I checked in, they said "the only non-smoking rooms left have 2 queen beds, is that ok?" . . .I was like, do people really complain about getting a bigger room than they need? No problem for me. I was in the Casino tower on the 7th floor. . . The room was spacious and clean. It seems from reading the other reviews that there is a lot of variation in the bathrooms so maybe ask about that when you check in if you are concerned about it. I had an enclosed bathroom (no glass wall - wth???) . . .but I didn't have a bathtub; it was the style where the whole bathroom is a shower which was ok. . .and they put wood on the half with the toilet and sink and tile on the shower side but the wood part still gets all wet which can be slightly annoying . . . I was afraid about the air/smell, b/c well . . .it's Vegas, and definitely the lobby and casino area have that carpet perfume / air freshener smell mixed with pockets of cigarette smoke, but they do pretty good at sucking the smoke up, and the room I felt was really a peaceful oasis and the air there was also well controlled; there was no odor and the ventilation worked really well. It's a huge hotel so it's pretty impressive to me that they've got the air under control. Also I didn't get sound from the concerts downstairs, but sometimes a very slight throbbing from the bass, but I always travel with earplugs so I just popped them in and had really good sleep . . . . Also you have to use your keycard to make the elevator go up. I was in the elevator with a guy who seemed kind of annoyed about having to fumble with his hard and he was like "is this really necessary?" I said "do you want riff raff wandering around your room?" . . .as a female traveling alone in Vegas alone, I appreciated the extra security. . . .
