| - The lady who took my weight, blood pressure etc, whose name I did not catch, was wonderful. She was very friendly and I felt comfortable with her. Great bedside manner etc. The physician who saw me, Rebecca Martin, was also very friendly, courteous and professional.
That said, I think greater care could have been taken to get a diagnosis for me. I came in with a sore throat, a fever, and an overall feeling that I was going to die. Looking back, it's obvious to me that it was very likely the flu. They tested me for strep which came back negative. Then gave me a prescription for amoxicillan.
Days later with very little improvement, I followed up with a local Primary Care physician who was floored that I was just given amoxicillan with the symptoms I had, plus a *negative* strep test. She said that I should have been administered Tamiflu, which can only be effective if given within 24 hours of getting sick. So I am still sick and am probably going to miss an entire week of work because of it, when the period of illness *could* have been reduced with the proper treatment.
I think the folks who treated me honestly did their best. But maybe they need to slow down a little in deciding what course of treatment to take.
Guess I should get a flu shot next time.
