| - I finally had a chance to use my Christmas present and it was seared to perfection!
I love to cook believe it or not and I actually do it quite often, but I felt like I needed to sharpen my kitchen skills and add a few new tools to my "chefy" arsenal, enter The Cooking Experience! This place is great, a fully stocked commercial kitchen with the proper cooking utensils, pots & pans, and all of the spices and ingredients you'll need for the class.
I took the "Streets of Mexico" class, which covered multiple courses from Fish Tacos to homemade churros and even three different types salsas and sauces. I was tasked with making the marinade for the chicken tacos and cooking the tacos as well. Which I really enjoyed because cooking chicken can be tricky for me, it's either bone dry or still clucking. Chef Trey was awesome and taught without teaching, the class is set up in a way that just allows you to dive in head first with Chef coming around and correcting you every so often.
The best part is the end when you get to eat all the food you just cooked, the class was full, but we still had tons of leftovers to take home. During your cook time they offer a few beers to sip and a sampling of margaritas. Ole! - All in all, I'm not sure that it was worth one hundred dollars for the class, but you do get all of the recipes emailed to you afterwards, so that's a thing.
This is really a fun date night adventure for a new couple or something a little different for the older couple looking to do something besides watch movies and enjoy happy hour.
