| - Bellagio is the epitome of luxury in Vegas, but they've been around since 1998, so when staying here, I wasn't sure if the room and amenities would be dated. It wasn't (yay!), but some of the furniture and fixtures in the room were showing signs of wear and tear.
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE ROOM: the room itself was spacious. There are controls near the door for the ceiling-to-floor window curtains. The room does not have a wall-to-wall view like Wynn, but more like half a wall of a view. The TV stations offered are not as plentiful as I've seen in other hotels. Certain channels, like the Asian channels, were a bit wonky. There are a couple of channels for them and when you flip to it, it works for a few seconds and then appear to lose the signal. Happened for every Asian channel. I didn't see a problem for any of the others. The bathroom had both a soaking tub and separate glass enclosed shower. The room fridge is fully stocked as a minibar and not empty, so you'd have to order an empty one at an additional cost.
The resort fee of $33 covers internet, fitness center access, local calls, and boarding pass printing. During my trip in April, there were no parking fees for now but I was told it will be coming later and it'll be a cost separate from the resort fee. As of this posting, they've started implementing parking fees at certain M Life properties like Bellagio. -_-
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE AMENITIES: The fitness center is far from the hotel rooms. It's near the conservatory, sharing the same entrance as the spa and salon. As you head to the fitness center, you are given a great view of the conservatory from the second floor. I think Bellagio has my favorite fitness center thus far. It's a large fitness center with high ceilings, bright lights (some of it natural light too), weights, machines and an area for balance exercises. Surprised to see a considerable amount of people working out on a Tuesday morning! I didn't have a chance to check out the pool during my time here, which I was sad about.
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE SERVICE: Jacqueline, the front desk personnel who checked us in, was so warm and welcoming. We had booked a resort king room, but was able to upgrade to a fountain view room for a reasonable fee per night. It was totally worth the upgrade fee. Jacqueline is amazing; she worked her magic to get us a room as close to the middle of the floor as possible, which meant a breathtaking view of the fountains and the strip skyline. We pretty much stayed in the room when the fountains' schedule started and tuned in to the TV channel that played the music to the show. The music came through clear and crisp. We took many a video that captured all of the fountains. It was clearer than filming it at street level.
Bellagio was definitely worth it for a special occasion. The view itself was worth it. However, due to the parking fees, I would be factoring that in when choosing the place for my next Vegas trip.
