| - This is one of the best dim sum spots in Vegas. The food is always good, and has average prices. However, there are several drawbacks to Ping Pang Pong.
The first, is that unless you get there right when it opens, you will have to wait in line. The line can sometimes take 10 minutes, but more often it will take much longer. This can be infuriating at times, because they have two sides to the restaurant and often keep people in line when half the restaurant is still empty. I understand that they don't want half the restaurant unattended by employees, but this place is so small that really shouldn't be a problem.
Second, service is hit or miss. At times, they are attentive and you don't have to wait long to get your food. But at others, you can wait a long time before you get any food, or your drinks refilled. When it's busy, you need to leave your table with your food ticket and basically attack the food servers, since dim sum is brought out on carts. If you don't then you might not get food for a while.
Third, while most things are great here, especially the char siu bao (bbq pork bun) and dessert buns, there are also things which are sub-par. The most disappointing is the lo mai gai (stuffed sticky rice). While it works in a pinch, I don't recommend getting it here.
All in all, this is a good place to come for dim sum, just make sure you arrive early and are ready to attack the servers for food.
