I went in on Sunday to get some protein shakes. The price was labeled $7.99 but rang up for $8.99. (They are 3/$20 at Sam's Club). I asked the clerk about it and first she said it was tax. I told her that I didn't think it would be taxed. She double checked and said that there must have been a price increase but the stickers were not changed.
So I asked her to charge me $7.99 and she said she could not. I said I would call the manager to complain the next day.
I did call on Monday and the manager asked me if I had my receipt, because I would need it to get the $1 credited back to my card. Or I would need to know the time of my purchase so that she could look it up. I told her that she should just have empowered her staff to do the right thing in the first place. She said that the employee does know how to do that.
We left it with me not being willing to go back in to hassle over $1. We should have left it with her apologizing (didn't happen) and offering me a discount on a future purchase. Thus I won't be making any future purchases.
I have no idea how this woman has no customer service skills got a franchise or manager position.
