| - The ambiance is nice and has a cozy, quiet feel. Our servers were pleasant, but not very attentive. When we asked the first server if any of the rolls were gluten-free, she replied, "Umm... I'd guess this one" (and she was wrong). Sorry, but folks with a gluten allergy can't afford to guess. On the plus side, multiple servers asked the chef(s) about it, so we were able to find compatible choices... and they do provide gluten-free soy sauce!
The prices were in line with the two-dollar-sign rating. Most rolls were in the $11-$15 range. That's typical for above-average sushi.
Things were looking positive as we awaited our food. The dishes arrived very quickly... in about 1/2 the time I expected. The presentation was average. Unfortunately, the serving size was TINY! Check my photos... the nigiri is of typical size, and the $10.50 Philadelphia Roll next to it looks like a preschool toy. It's easily half or less the size of the rolls I've had at *every* other sushi restaurant. The $12.95 Hawaiian Roll on the left side of my other photo is the same miniature size as the Philadelphia. The taste for each of them was slightly below average. Not much in the way of detectable spices, and the fish had virtually no flavor at all. The $10.50 Rock & Roll on the right side of photo #2 was just slightly larger diameter than a normal-sized sushi roll, but there were only five pieces, so it was about the same volume as their other miniature rolls. The cucumber wrap was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately that was the only detectable taste. The ingredients were completely flavorless.
So, overall I'd say the food would be a good value at about 40% of the asking price. I would have rated this experience with just one star, but the pleasant ambiance was worth a second star.
Unless something drastically changes, like perhaps new management, I definitely won't return.
