| - To lead with some nonsense: I don't know why Epi Breads is called Epi. It makes me think of an epipen, and then throws me off my bakery game.
Perhaps the root comes from epicurean?
In which case, well...well-played, Epi Breads.
*start of actual review*
There is a broad selection of bread, baked goods, and even prepared sandwiches at Epi Breads (there is a small seating area so you can nom immediately in a civilized way, and not out on the street corner). But here I play a focused game, a one-two punch of: scones and ginger snaps.
I think the scones at Epi Breads are the best in the city. I particularly like the mixed berry; they aren't too sweet and have the full flavour and slight tang of fresh berries baked right in.
I've started having to play a game with myself: I am *only allowed to stop at Epi if there is a parking spot directly in front of the bakery*. My waistband appreciates that this doesn't happen all that regularly, but I always pick up scones for breakfast-in-bed settings, Mothers' Day, and carb-y pick-me-ups.
Yelp note: despite my endless praise for their baked offerings, I am not a fan of their coffee options...money better spent on MOAR SCONES! Also worth noting: early bird gets the bread: they can sell out of things, so skew early, friends!
