Lets see where to begin. This place was doomed for disaster from the start. When we moved in our "move-in" ready unit was far from ready. We placed 12 work orders within the first 2 weeks of us being there. The office staff particularly Janet assured us the matters would be addressed yet it took a very long time for them to fix the issues.
Next, we had a very difficult time with our neighbors who lived above us. They were very loud and made noise throughout the night. We brought the problem up to Janet and again she told us the matter would be resolved. After countless efforts of talking to her she did not really fix the issue. My roommate and myself made 6 appearances to get this particular issues resolved, we even went in with video evidence of the noise. Finally this issue was resolved but it was not an easy process.
The biggest issue we had were the people that surrounded the units particularly in the parking lots. This place is a feeding ground for drug users. I cant count on one had how many instances I saw people partaking in illegal activity behind the dumpster in the parking lot. I never felt safe walking to my car. To top this off one night my roommate and myself witnessed sexual activity on a couch that was behind the dumpster. When we called the "security" about the issue he just laughed.
Considering all of the above both my roommates and myself felt very uncomfortable living at Scottsdale Springs. We inquired about a transfer and were told that would not be a problem. We thought great we can move to another Mark Taylor property without issue. Well we were wrong. After moving into another Mark Taylor community Scottsdale Springs hit us with additional chargers. Among those charges were cleaning for "dirty carpets". We only lived in that unit for about 3 months and when we did the final walk through with Leo he said everything was okay. How can someone do a final walk through and say it is okay and then turn around and slap us with $190 fee!?!?
This whole situation has been a nightmare and I feel like Scottsdale Springs is taking advantage of the people who decide to live in their complex. I would never ever recommend this property and if you were even slightly thinking about it let me give you some advice... RUN as far away from this place as you can.
