The three stars is mainly for location. As everyone else says it's in a prime spot. It was annoying to not have free wifi, but we knew going there and chose to use free wifi throughout the city. We were in for TIFF and paid more than we should have, but that's how it is during TIFF. The parking garage was a bit crazy, but so close and we didn't have any issues. (just expect there could be cars parked behind you blocking you in so tell them when you plan to leave) With this location we walked EVERYWHERE. No Uber, no taxis. So I guess we saved on those as well. I recommend for the location for TIFF, as it really wasn't a bother to walk to Elgin, Ryerson or even the TIFF Lightbox (the farthest). The room is BASIC. You get a bed and a bathroom. If you want to enjoy the room more don't book here. It's not fancy. It's adequate. We weren't there to enjoy the room, but to crash there at the end of the night. THIS is where the hotel loses stars... I'm a light sleeper. I'll preface this part of the review with this. I also get warm at night and like some A/C... As mentioned in other reviews if you sleep by the air conditioner you will freeze to death. It's IN YOUR FACE. As a light sleeper, it also woke me up each time it kicked on. Night one was lots of restless sleep... Night two I attempted to go w/o air conditioning. At about 4 AM I was awoke to the sound of some people fighting outside the hotel or across the street. We were on the 4th floor and could hear all the street noise like we were outside. Finally at about 5 AM I had to turn the air conditioning on to drown out a car alarm that was going off so loud it woke my sound sleeper boyfriend. BTW as a light sleeper I had ear plugs in and still was awoke by these things. I personally think if I were to stay here again I would ask for a high floor in hopes I'd hear less of the city. If you sleep through anything and don't require A/C by all means stay here. The location and normal bargain price is unbeatable.
