Don't think this place needs another stellar review so I'll cut to the chase.
Sashimi plate (larger one) always fresh and the variety of sashimi is great (e.g. ahi, salmon, scallops, uni). Presentation is always cool (see shrimp stuffed in mouth of fish carcass). They'll fry the fish head for you too after you're done with the sashimi so you can pick off the meat or eat the eyeballs.
Japanese A5 wagyu is awesome rare. Gold flakes may be a little over the top but whatever, it's A5 wagyu! Meat like butter! The ponzu sauces that came with it overpowers the flavor of the meat. Bypass sauces; a little salt and pepper is all you need.
We picked off the menu board and got the prime Angus filet with uni butter. Tasted great, but we made the mistake of ordering this after the A5 so prime filet was almost like eating a gristly piece of pot roast. If we didn't make this mistake, it would've been much more awesome in my mind.
Scallops with foie gras was cooked perfect. Best part was that the foie gras on top was not some flimsy piece; it was about half the thickness of the scallop. A little rich, but cutting the servings in half did the trick. Hate over-cooked scallops but SoHo always cooks it to melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
Sushi rolls were tasty but as long as the fish is fresh, rolls taste decent just about everywhere. Presentation is always spot on here, though.
This place never disappoints.
