| - So, this isn't your average breach...in fact, it's a "Beach". That being said, Mandalay Bay truly has brought the breach to the strip. This complex is huge, don't let the pictures fool you. There had to be about 400 chairs in this complex, plus the 30+ cabanas/Gazebos etc that you can rent. We spent our first day in Vegas here - all day - at the pool. I'm sure this goes without saying - but this ginger was burnt to a crisp. We rented a gazebo, and it was well worth the money. We had our own "Pool Boy" Kyle - who knows how to flirt and make you feel special. Don't get me wrong - he was jail bait, but it's cute.
Our gazebo came with an endless supply of bottled water, a TV, in gazebo safe, fan and table to eat at. There is a dedicated food and beverage staff team that brings you anything you would want. That being said - you're gonna pay for that service - but it's well with it if you're there to relax. I'd rather spend it here then in the slots.
The beach sand is white, and it's HOT, so I suggest sandals, even if you'er just going for a quick dip. Also, the place fills up fast, so if you're looking for a prime spot, be there early. You can rent chairs for something like $100 though. On to the pools and water attractions. Of the 3 pools I saw, plus the wave pool there had to be about 30 lifeguards on duty...so I felt very safe.
The one thing I didn't like....the amount of KIDS. I get that pools generally attract kids - I get it - but this is Vegas....I don't want to be at a casino pool with your little snorts running around, pushing me in the lazy river (IT'S CALLED THE LAZY RIVER FOR A REASON), or splashing in the pools. Yes, there is an adults only area of the pool - but it's also Topsional - I have no desire to see other chicks boobs :P
It's the only place in Vegas like it - super great and worth the stay Mandalay Bay just for this.
