  • I had contacted these guys for an estimate to re-plaster my pool, repair and paint pool deck and to replaced tiles. This was only the second company I had asked for an estimate. I had read the positive comments by one customer on yelp, and decided to give Heritage pools a call. I thought the estimate was too high, but agreed to get only the pool plastering done. I asked when can they start, and was told late february. They sent me a contract to sign, but with no start date on the contract. I was told they would give me a start date in a few days. I intended to wait for the call with a start date, and then would ask them to include that on contract. Then I would sign contract. The call never came. Never heard from them again, even after e-mailing them. In the mean time I did a little more research on this company, and found 3 customers complaining about the quality of the work, and that this company does not honor their warranty. Not too good, and the contract only warranties the work for 5 years. Not too good, when plaster is supposed to last a lot longer than that.(10-17 years). I also looked up the owner's name in the public records search, and found a couple of pages of Lien activity. Not sure if the liens are on customers properties or what. A couple of IRS liens were also found. I dont feel good about hiring a company that looks like it is lien happy. It indicates maybe frequent disputes between the company and home owners, where home owner wont pay for work maybe due to poor quality of work or failure to complete job. Then the home owner gets a lien on their home. Not about to sign on with such a dirtbag company, and put my home on the line. By the way the Nevada state contractors board does show some disciplinary action taken against this company back in 2009. Something about accepting a job higher than the insurance bond or something. Not something that worries me, but just another small indicator that this company does not have it's shit together. on a positive note however, this company does not have any disciplinary issues in past 5 years. That is better than the other contractor I had asked for an estimate from. One thing I did like is they have a list of jobs they have done, and photos. That shows that maybe they do take pride in doing a good job. But what about the 3 customers that complained on yelp? Those yelp complaints paint a bad picture.
