  • This new Invasive Species just landed recently into Markham, Ontario. It's definitely a threat to the native ecosystem as the locals and staff are desperately rushing to adapt to this big-city environment before it becomes overwhelmed. This Living Organism latin-name "Duo", is such an advanced species that it skip the evolution of being solely a Café or a Patisserie/Bakery and jumps straight to both "Patisserie & Café", think Mutant Gene(X-men). Duo brings with it top class baking and coffee equipment, beautiful selection of French pastries(unheard of in local ecosystem), and big-city(big-bro - pilot coffee) coffee beans. 3.5'd Bringing with it so many factors alters the ecosystem conditions. The locals are not quite ready to bring their own dirty plates and cups back to the friendly/busy staff, making it the person-wanting-the-seat's duty to clear the table. At the same time, the staff are completely overwhelmed at both the pastry station and café station with no customer queue organization to speak of. Duo does change the food web by destroying, replacing, out-competing native food sources of Asian bakeries, local Asian-owned dessert shops. Once you've had their offerings, you will be going to them 90% of the time when searching up tasty French pastries in the immediate surrounding area. Same goes for quality Americanos and Black Eye but it cannot be said for the milked coffee beverages(as yet, time will tell). This is one of those times I welcome Invasive Species into GTA. Let's see if they can get ROI sooner than later with all those shiny new equip they proudly display to the happy customers.
