Went to eat here on a Sunday to try their "prix fixe" menu with a party of five. Most of us opted for the Caesar Salad first (good) and Prime Rib as the main course. To say the meat was bad is an understatement unless you like fatty, tasteless beef. We all ended up trimming anywhere from 50- 70% of our meal and pushing it off to the side because it was not edible. Additionally, when one of our parties meals showed up it was ice cold so the rest of us were eating while waiting for his food to show up.
If it sounds like the food was terrible (it was) the service was utterly and disappointingly consistent. First, one of our party ordered an End Cut on the Prime Rib and was told by the waitress that "she would try". When he asked to be informed if it was available or not so he could choose something else if it wasn't available he was met with an attitude as if he asked her to rope a steer and cook it herself along with informing him that if he committed the mortal sin of changing his order if what he really wanted wasn't available he probably would have to wait 20 minutes and wouldn't be able to eat with the rest of our party! What??
When ordering our meal, our ever so friendly waitress told us that we were supposed to decide on our dessert at that point as well. Have to admit I've never been pressured to decide what I want for dessert before I've even put a morsel of food in my mouth but we complied. Two in our party chose the bread pudding only to be told when it was time for dessert an hour later that they were sold out of the bread pudding. When we asked what the point was of being pressured to decide on dessert the hour before if it wasn't going to be secured we got a blank stare and were told our diners would just have to choose from the other TWO dessert options on the special menu. We spoke to a manager who then told us we could choose a dessert from the regular menu since it was their fault they didn't secure the dessert we ordered. But when our diners chose the Lava Cake we were told by the manager that was the one dessert that he would not give them! Keep in mind this is supposed to be fine dining and our tab was over $300 and this is how people are treated when the restaurant is at fault. And last but not least, don't expect anything that might resemble a timely refill of your water or iced tea with your meal. Not happening.
Overall, terrible service, terrible food and high prices. If you want to get what you pay for and have a good dining experience, don't walk away from Flemings....RUN!
