| - Kat and I often get sushi cravings that lead us into trouble; case in point, last weekend we had a date and when deliberating about what to eat, we only needed to give each other a sly look and nod. SUSHI! So we decided to try out this place across Chinook Center; we haven't been before, and Angelo T. recommended it as decent.
We were struck by the charming intimacy, and as soon as we started rattling off our demands, we realized we might need a bigger table. We got takoyaki and gyoza to start, and both were as good as we've ever had. We then ordered the smoked salmon and dynamite rolls, along with the standard California rolls, and to top it off, Kat got a teriyaki beef rice bowl, and I got a dinner box with 5 pieces of sashimi, teriyaki pork and tuna rolls. Immediate regrets! Our table happily groaned with the weight, and we ate as diligently as we could; needless to say, Kat's bowl was untouched and came home with us.
The food was delicious; I don't normally get sashimi, but the pieces were fresh and texturally sound. The teriyaki had an interesting sweet undertone, almost as if cinnamon was present. I think perhaps a smaller order would have worked better to give all the items their chance to shine. The service was good and enthusiastic, and I would recommend Momo as a good place to satisfy a sushi craving.
