  • Signed my daughter up for volleyball. So far we have been impressed by the coach (volunteer dad). My main complaint is with their so called volleyball skills workshop that was held today. When we got here we found it isn't run by NYS but by a competing organization Vegas Athletic Dept which is conveniently run by the husband of the indoor sports coordinator. They are really just assessing our girls for the club play which is $100/month. There are way too many participants, it's just show up and come, and not nearly enough coaches or teaching going on. It started late and they were going to dismiss early as well when we paid and it was advertised as a 2 hour workshop. The best part is that the man running Vegas Athletic Dept was bashing NYS and the way they run their teams and really promoting his own organization. They advertised this at nys meetings and via email and then we get here they are encouraging us to leave NYS for their group. Seems really tacky and fishy. The NYS employee is here wearing a Vegas Athletic shirt. I would prefer they be open and clear about the purposes and intents of the clinic.
