| - Glad to see Fulton Homes listed here. We purchased our first home in 2003 from Fulton. It was an excellent experience and professional from start to finish. We got the "A" team without question. Regrettably, when we purchased a spec home from Fulton in 2010, we got the "B" team.
The CS from Fulton was subpar at best as we went through a number of issues on the house after moving in. I had to fight like hell over every single issue to get them to do their job and stand by their work. After living here for six years and replacing a number of plumbing and electrical parts throughout the house, it is clear, Fulton used subpar parts and contractors. I won't go into details, but beware when buying from Fulton.
One of the main issues we had was Fulton failed to properly backfill our lot around the drive way. After Fulton coming out not once, but twice to fix the issue, the problem continues to this day and is now worse than ever. The comical part about Fulton's response to this issue was the condescending rep who kept telling me that this was occurring because I parked my work van on the driveway. So apparently, Fulton cannot build driveways to support oversize vehicles. If you look at the utility boxes one lot over from ours, you will see the same sinking issues occurring there as well.
The reason I am writing this today is because we recently discovered a serious flaw in the electrical wiring of the house. There are a number of outlets that were wired to the same breaker as one of our kitchen GFI outlets, some not even in the same room as the kitchen. The main GFI outlet in the kitchen died a few days ago along with another regular outlet in one of the bedrooms. I look forward to bringing in a professional to see how bad the problem is. I wish Fulton would have used professionals to build our house properly in the first place.
Update. 9.16.17. I have received several messages from other Fulton customers sharing their unsatisfactory experiences since I posted my original review. Sadly, the numerous low reviews Fulton has here on Yelp only reinforces the fact that Fulton has become a very unprofessional company.
By nature, I'm pretty laid back and roll with the punches. But if you are having issues with Fulton, be prepared to be an assertive d@*k to get results. Document everything. Communicate by email so you have it in writing. And when the trades come to fix it, don't be shy about demanding perfection. They will find shortcuts wherever they can.
Another example of how petty Fulton can be was our dishwasher. Upon moving in, it did not work. Repair people were sent twice to fix it. When it still didn't work, I told them I was done and wanted a new unit. Fulton went through a number of reasons why they couldn't do it, until they landed on this humorous gem. They claimed I didn't own the dishwasher. The bank did since it was in our mortgage. Then I reminded the nice CS lady that we paid cash for the house. She promptly had it removed and we purchased a new one directly from Sears. Oh the games these people play.
