Introduction:
I went through Costco to get my shutters installed for my house thinking that I can not go wrong being backed up by Costco. Result? I can not be more wrong, please read this entire review to find out how Southwest Shutters and Blinds plays a horrible part with my ludicrous experience. You definitely want to think twice before you consider utilizing them. Let's put it this way, if they can screw Costco's customers, they will screw you and not think twice.
Customer Service: 1/5
My question is, how the F does this place get a 4 1/2 stars rating? Really???? So, let's dive right into my nightmare experience. So the initial contract experience was outstanding, but once they got you to sign that contract, everything goes to hell (and that's a kind word to say the least).
First of all, I dealt with our sales guy since March, I specifically asked how long it's going to take since I will be moving in April. When I called to inquire in May, I was informed by a Lainey that she will look into it and will get back to me on Fri 5/5 at end of day. Of course I didn't hear from Lainey at end of day, so I followed up with Lainey on Monday 5/8, but she still doesn't have an answer for me.
So I decided to call Costco, in my opinion, they use this crappy place to represent them, they should own it. Guess what Southwest Shutters and Blinds informed the Rep at Costco? That they informed me someone will install it on June 2nd. Which is a lie, I had to constantly follow up with Lainey and an installation date was never provided. The good news for me? I have it in writing and I will bring it to Costco for proof. So yes, in case you're wondering, I am taking my horrible experience as high up as I needed to.
So there's more, today was my installation day. Great news right? NOT! I was informed that the vertical blinds for the living room was 20 inches too small. First of all, how the F do you get 20 inches discrepancies in measurements? That's significant! Secondly, I was informed by my sales guy that two individuals did the measurements. Yet, still a mess up? I have one word to say. INCOMPETENT!!! Are you an amateur, yes, I am so disappointed with Costco for choosing this cheesy company to mislead their customers.
Price: 1/5
Let's just say I paid $3,000 higher than most of my quotes. I didn't care since I thought I had Costco to back me up. So with $3,000 in savings, just imagine how much I had to pay for my final bill.
Tips:
You may want to read your contract word for word. In my case, I was verbally informed that it can take about 30 days. But it took almost 60, unfortunately, it was on my contract to allow them this timeframe. Who the hell reads every fine notes especially when there's a zillion pieces of papers that was thrown at me? Not to mention, I am in the middle of transitioning to a new home.
Had I known, I wouldn't have went with shutters, but went with blinds instead. At least that's what I was told, that blinds would've been a lot faster. But who knows what they tell me is facts or fictions. Needless to say, I had to put painting papers and cardboards around my house so that I can get some privacy. When I addressed this to Lainey, she appeared concern, but informed me that she can arrange some temporary blinds, but there will be a cost but can talk to her manager to give me a discount. Really? This review can be much longer, I am honestly making the story super short. Just know that it was one of the most nightmare experience I have ever gone through and would not wish this experience for anyone.
The only person that I have a great experience with was Benyon, my installer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE EVEN IF THEY GIVE YOU A 95% DISCOUNT!!!!!!!!
