I had an allergic reaction to an over the counter mineral recommended by my dr. I went in to Dignity Health on Blue Diamond & Decatur seeking help. My tongue was swelling & I also experienced shortness of breath. I did some research before heading to the ER & my symptoms matched having Anaphylaxis, a life threatening allergic reaction. I got to the hospital & explained what was going on & the the only thing the front office was concerned about was filling out paperwork as I struggled to breath, pretty sure that's no protocol at hospitals. They asked for my DL as I didn't finish filling out the paperwork. (Keep in mind I have great insurance that we PAY FOR)They took me to the back as everyone scrambled around not knowing what to do. They asked me a couple?'s and left the room. Left me struggling to breath as my throat began to close. I waited & no one came back in the room & communicated how they would help me. I stepped out the the room to find nurses & dr's standing & sitting at the desk outside my room like I wasn't declining by the moment. I told them if I couldn't receive the care I need to go to another hospital. That's when DR JAMES PREDDY waved his hand sarcastically & said "BYE" I asked him what did he say & he repeated "BYE". I couldn't believe this was coming out of his mouth since he took an oath to help patients.. I asked for his name & he said he didn't have to give me his name.. I retrieved his name from his shirt & proceeded to leave & go to a REAL HOSPITAL.. IF YOU SEEKING MEDICAL ATTENTION & you have an emergency & need to go to a hospital DO NOT GO TO DIGNITY HEALTH on Blue Diamond & Decatur. IT IS owned by Emerus not Dignity Health... I cannot believe St.Rose/Dignity would put their name at stake with this racist company & the dr's & nurses that come along with it. I went to SOUTHERN HILLS HOSPITAL where they rushed to help me by quickly hooking me up to an iv with meds that's counter act my allergic reaction. If you are having an EMERGENCY please do not go to this Urgent Care disguised as a hospital. I have never experienced such racism from a place where you sign up to help people no matter what race.
