I've attended two rock concerts here, the second being last night. Unless you have the dough to pay a famous musician to perform in your livingroom, it's not likely to get more intimate than this.
I appreciate that it's a classy venue with a laid back atmosphere. Not only does the crowd get to bring their alcoholic beverages to their comfortable seats, they can dance in the aisle and no one is going to judge them or make them sit down. I also think the venue impacts the musicians this way. They seem to be having a genuinely great time, actually being able to engage with the crowd, hearing people when they shout their affections.
The volume is perfect and doesn't leave you with hearing loss. The folks who are there to see a performance are passionate about it, so they are really listening rather than partying.
If there is a better concert venue in Calgary, I have yet to darken its doors.
